About the Journal
The Journal of Clinics in Foot and Ankle Research is a specialized international journal focusing exclusively on clinical and scientific studies related to the foot, ankle, and lower limb. It operates as an open access platform, meaning its articles are freely available to anyone worldwide. This increases the visibility and accessibility of research findings for clinicians, educators, students, and policy makers.
The journal is managed by a team of experts in podiatry, physiotherapy, orthopedic surgery, and related disciplines. It publishes a variety of articles including original research studies, systematic reviews, clinical case reports, methodological papers, and discussion articles addressing current issues in foot and ankle care.
Aims and Scope
The primary aim of JCFAR is to advance knowledge in foot and ankle health through dissemination of high-quality evidence that improves: Clinical practice (diagnosis, assessment, treatment planning, rehabilitation, surgical outcomes). Biomechanical understanding of foot and ankle function. Management strategies for chronic and acute conditions affecting the lower limb. Public health approaches targeting prevention of foot-related complications (e.g. diabetic foot ulcers).
Its scope broadly encompasses: Foot and ankle disorders – musculoskeletal problems, deformities, and systemic disease manifestations (like diabetes-related complications). Surgical and conservative treatments – evaluation of surgical techniques, orthotic devices, prosthetics, footwear interventions, and rehabilitation programs. Biomechanics and gait analysis – research examining how forces act through the foot and ankle during movement, contributing to injury prevention and performance enhancement. Policy and service delivery – studies examining how foot and ankle care services are structured, delivered, and accessed in different health systems. Interdisciplinary integration encouraging collaboration between podiatrists, surgeons, physiotherapists, nurses, orthotics, and public health researchers.
